Alfreda Best has been a professional in the Human Service field since 1989. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication arts from College of New Rochelle and Master of Education in Psychological studies from Cambridge College. Alfreda is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and a qualified mental health professional for adults and children, Certified Clinical Trauma professional and Certified Life Coach.​

She is currently an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program clinical assessor and group facilitator with River City Comprehensive Counseling. ​

Alfreda has worked at various human service organizations and agencies. She held positions as a Residential Advisor, Discharge Planner, Social Worker for Foster Care and Adoption, Prevention Social Worker for Children, Federal Correctional Officer, Veterans Employment Specialist, Mental Health Skill Builder, Intensive In-Home Counselor, VASAP Facilitator, Mental Health Tech in Crisis Stabilization Unit, Care Coordinator and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor.​

Alfreda is a committed, compassionate, and motivated public service professional. She has used her knowledge to assist and help individuals of diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about her work and always goes above and beyond. ​

Alfreda loves to spend quality time with her family and friends. She loves to travel and cook. In her spare time, Alfreda volunteers at Mercy Mall. She is dedicated to her women ministry. Alfreda does motivational speaking for The Stages of Change youth group.
