Maggie graduated from James Madison University with her Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2021. She continued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University and received her Master’s in Social Work in 2023. While at JMU, Maggie completed her practicum at Western State Hospital, working with individuals struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. This gave Maggie her first opportunity to work with co-occurring disorders, which she quickly became passionate about. At VCU, Maggie completed her practicum with River City, again working directly with individuals who have co-occurring disorders. River City allowed Maggie to flourish when it came to person-centered & solution-focused approaches, a strong belief that Maggie holds when working with clients.

After graduating, Maggie’s passion for working with the substance use population grew, and she was offered employment with River City. She currently works a dual role as a Substance Use Case Manager as well as the agency’s Community Engagement Manager. Maggie is currently pursuing licensure to become a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the state of Virginia. She is also a CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor) supervisee.

In her free time, Maggie enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family at the river, trying new foods, and exploring Richmond with her friends.
