She earned her BSW and Advanced Standing MSW at Virginia Commonwealth University. Tangee has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. At the early stages of her career, she was employed, interned, and volunteered at various human service organizations and agencies to include, but not limited to Safe Harbor, Chesterfield Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center (DSVRC), Rubicon, Inc., and T.O.D.A.Y.S. Youth Services, LLC.

In 2009, Tangee became part of the grass roots establishment of River City Comprehensive Counseling Services (RCCCS). From 2009-2016, Tangee served as a Clinical Director, Training & Professional Development Coordinator, Acting Field Instructor, and Outpatient Therapist for RCCCS’s programs and services such as Intensive In-Home, Mental Health Skill Building, Outpatient Individual and Group therapy, Substance Abuse programs, and more. This led to Tangee working with all walks of life, all ages, and being exposed to a multitude of mental health conditions and issues. In continuing with training and self-study, root causes remained of interest while remedies and person-centered interventions became the forefront of Tangee's focus. She grew to cultivate expertise in clinical approaches that included non-pharmaceutical ways of healing and managing symptoms of mental health conditions or everyday life problems. She has undergone several training related to CBT, DBT, Trauma Informed Care, and non-pharmaceutical interventions for mental health disorders. Tangee has a Mindfulness Certification and is a Reiki I & II Practitioner.

In 2016, Tangee founded Avail Outpatient Counseling LLC, a mind-body private practice. Her practice focuses on person-centered, healing-focused, and goal-directed psychotherapy, empowerment coaching, and holistic healing services. Tangee has become an expert in using Evidenced-Based Conventional Therapies in conjunction with Complementary and Alternative Therapies. In 2021, Tangee recognized the need for licensed mental health professionals to aid in reducing the impact of substance use and psychiatric disorders on individuals, families, and our communities and returned to River City Comprehensive Counseling Services (RCCCS) to do so. Tangee is now the Vice President of Clinical Operations for all of River City's Co-Occurring Enhanced Substance Use Service (SUS) Programs. With an eclectic multidisciplinary team, Tangee is centered on the ongoing development and implementation of robust approaches for addressing substance use disorders (SUD).

In her spare time, Tangee focuses on community outreach commitments which formerly included NAMI-CVA and currently include Progressive Community Outreach, Education Connection Academy, and Richmond Association of Black Social Workers. Tangee’s community outreach efforts have been featured in several published articles and digital media by African Social Workers Unite, Huami Magazine RVA, National Association of Black Social Workers, Urban Views RVA, The Mighty, and Cada Culture. Tangee also enjoys bicycling, roller skating, spending mindful moments with her 3 daughters, husband, and shih-tzu. She enjoys cooking and sharing healthy meal ideas with others on her blog, Tangee Taught U.
